The TradersCircle Strategy Calculator relies on a number of features of the browser to function correctly, including Javascript and Java Plugins. The calculator has been tested under both Interet Explorer 6.0 and Mozzilla Firefox 2 (Windows, Mac OS X and Linux).
The following steps will guide you through configuring Internet Explorer 7.0 to run the Strategy Calculator.

| The Strategy Calculator makes use of Javascript to provide a rich user interface. To enable Javascript follow these steps: |
- Startup Internet Explorer.
- Select "Tools", "Internet Options" from the main menu. This should raise the "Internet Options" dialog.
- Select the "Security" tab.
From the security tab select the "Internet Zone" and then choose "Custom Level.". This will raise the "Security Settings" dialog. Scroll to the scripting section and ensure scripting is enabled as follows
Note: advanced users may want to add www.traderscircle.com.au to their trusted sites and only enable Javascript for trusted sites
- Select "OK" on both dialogs. Javascript is now enabled.

Step 2 Enable Pop-up Windows

| The Strategy Calculator is designed to run in a pop-up window and so you must configure Internet Explorer to allow pop-up windows. |
- Startup Internet Explorer.
- Select "Tools", "Internet Options" from the main menu. This should raise the "Internet Options" dialog.
- Select the "Privacy" tab.
- Choose "Settings" from the "Pop-up Blocker" section
- In the "Address of Web site to allow" field enter www.traderscircle.com.au and then select "Add"

- Pop-ups are now allowed for the TradersCircle web site.

Step 3 Check for Java Runtime Engine (JRE)
|
Check your system to determin if java is installed.
|
- Open your control panels.

- Look for the java control panel (it looks like a coffee cup). If you can not find the java control panel go to step 4

- If you find the java control panel. Open it and check for updates. If you have the java control panel. You should be able to run the calculator

Step 4 Install the Java Runtime Engine (JRE)
|
The Java Runtime Engine allows Internet Explorer to run Java Applets embedded within web pages. The Strategy Calculator uses a Java Applet to communicate with the Trader's Circle's Strategy Calculation Server.

Navigate to the Strategy Calculator and if you get either of the following alerts then you will need to install or update your version of the Java Runtime Environment.

Current version of Java Runtime Engine needed: 1.6 or Above
|
- The following alert means that you do not have a JRE installed or an older verion of the JRE installed. Internet Explorer is able to install it automatically for you. Select the "Click here to install..." and proceed to the Automatic Java Runtime Installation step.

- If you get an alert message similar to the following then your security settings do not allow the JRE to be automatically installed, in this case proceed with a manual JRE installation as described in the Manual Java Runtime Engine Installation step.

| If your security settings allow Internet Explorer to run ActiveX controls, and you do not have a suitable version of the JRE installed, then you will be prompted to install the Java Runtime as follows: |

| Simply follow the onscreen instructions to install the appropriate JRE. Note you may need to restart you browser after the JRE has been installed. |
| Manual Java Runtime Engine installation |
| If you do not have an appropriate runtime installed, and your security settings do not allow automatic installation, then you will need to download and install an appropriate version by following these steps. |
- Navigate to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp using your web browser
- Select the "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 13" download link and follow the instructions to install the JRE. Choose the default options during the setup if you are unsure.
- The JRE should now be installed and ready to use.
